ALBANY, NY — The Albany Devils held their first practice of the 2015-16 season at Times Union Center Wednesday. The team had been skating at Knickerbacker Ice Arena for the past couple of weeks due to conflicts with the home arena. The Devils are preparing for back-to-back road games Saturday and Sunday against the Toronto Marlies.
Graham Black, Matt Lorito and Vojtech Mozik, who missed last Saturday’s opener with injuries, participated in Wednesday’s skate. Black and Mozik have been sidelined with lower-body injuries, while Lorito has been out, but skating, with an upper-body ailment.
“A couple of them if not all of them could be a possibility this weekend,” said Head Coach Rick Kowalsky. “Mozik has been off the ice quite a bit. We need to get him skating. Lorito has been able to skate, so just to see how he is with the puck. Black is a lower body so we have to be careful with that. It’s definitely good to see them and get numbers and positionally give us more options.”
The Devils return to the ice Thursday for a 10 am practice at Times Union Center.
