Blandisi, 22, split time between Albany and New Jersey last season. He had nine goals and 14 assists in 27 AHL games and five goals and 12 helpers in 41 NHL games. During the A-Devils playoff run, he posted two goals and an assist in 11 outings.
Prior to being reassigned, Blandisi spoke with The Record’s Andrew Gross:
“Obviously, it’s nerve wracking. You prepare the whole summer to make the team but I think, obviously, our coaching staff and managers have all been around a lot longer than I have, they know what’s best for my development. I’ve just got to put myself in their hands and trust what they’re going to do with me is the right move for me in my career, whether it’s now or down in the future. Them sending me down at the beginning of last year definitely was beneficial for me. So I trust them with whatever decision they make. But, of course, I’d love to be up here.”
Lappin, 23, joined Albany at the end of last season on an ATO after completing his fourth season at Brown University. He had three tallies and four assists in 12 regular-season games and five goals and two assists in 11 postseason contests.
