ALBANY, NY — With just one win in their previous five games, the Albany Devils hit the reset button last week. After four days of practice, the team responded with back-to-back home victories: 6-3 against Hershey Friday and 4-3 against St. John’s Saturday.
During Friday’s game, Joe Blandisi registered two goals and two assists to tie a career high with four points. Vojtech Mozik and Rod Pelley both scored their first goals of the season and Brian Gibbons and Kevin Rooney tallied their second tallies. In goal, Scott Wedgewood earned his fourth win of the season, making eight stops.
On Saturday, Blake Pietila, who was coming off a two-assist performance against the Bears, tallied his first career hat trick. The final tally came with just 2:25 remaining and capped the Devils’ come-from-behind victory. Pelley scored for the second straight game and Mackenzie Blackwood registered his third victory; he had 27 saves.
