Mike Whitney had it all planned out well in advance. With the help of the Albany Devils Executive Staff, he and his girlfriend were “randomly” selected to participate in the second period intermission activity on the ice during last Saturday’s game.
After dominating Lindsey Quay in a shootout from the blue line, the couple was approached by Devils’ Manager of Event Operations Caela McLoughlin.
“Let me get your photo,” she said, moving the couple towards center ice.
After one final breath, Mike dropped down on one knee and asked Lindsey to marry him.
She said “yes” to the delight of the Times Union Center crowd and Mike and Lindsey’s family members who were secretly in attendance.
Here’s to wishing these Devils’ fans a lifetime of happiness!
