• TODAY’S TOP THREE
Going To The Big Dance: For the second time in the last three seasons, the Devils are heading to the Calder Cup Playoffs. The team clinched a berth in the postseason thanks to a 3-0 victory against Hartford Tuesday at Times Union Center. Albany is just the third team to qualify for the playoffs, following Toronto and Ontario. With nine games still remaining, the Devils own a 40-17-8-2 record for 90 points.
New Jersey Returns Wedgewood: Scott Wedgewood is heading back to Albany after the New Jersey Devils activated Cory Schneider off injured reserve today. Wedgewood, who was recalled on Mar. 20, appeared in four NHL games, going 2-1-1 with a 1.24 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage. The 23-year-old made his NHL debut and earned his first career win on the same day as his recall against Columbus. He followed four days later with a 39-save shutout at Pittsburgh.
O’Neill On The Edge: Brian O’Neill is scheduled to join Kelly O’Donnell on tonight’s “Upstate Sports Edge.” The Devils’ forward will be in studio this afternoon to shoot the segment, which will be between 10-15 minutes, and will air on CW15 at 10:30 pm. Additionally, parts of the interview will likely be shown during the CBS’s local news broadcast at 6 pm and 6:30 pm.
