ALBANY, NY — With Scott Wedgewood still recovering from an ankle sprain and rookie Ken Appleby on reassignment with the Adirondack Thunder, the Albany Devils will travel to Toronto with goaltenders Yann Danis and Doug Carr.
Danis, who was the opening-night starter, will likely play both Saturday and Sunday against the Marlies. Although Head Coach Rick Kowalsky did not rule out Carr seeing action in one of the 3 pm games.
“First night we will go from there,” Kowalsky said after Wednesday’s practice at Times Union Center. “No pregame skate in the morning with the 3 o’clock game, so it’s pretty conducive schedule to play one goalie.”
Danis made 28 of 32 saves last Saturday at Binghamton. Despite the loss, Kowalsky praised the 34-year-old for this poise and control during the game.
Carr is currently with the Devils as a PTO, which he agreed to on Oct. 7
