GLENS FALLS, NY — Coming off an eight-goal performance, tying a franchise record, the Albany Devils look to carry momentum into their Saturday affair against the Adirondack Phantoms at Glens Falls Civic Center. Puck drop is slated for 7 pm.

– The Devils are second in the Northeast Division and fourth in the Eastern Conference at 22-11-3-2 (49 pts.). The Phantoms are third in the division and ninth in the conference at 20-15-0-2 (42 pts.). Albany is 10-5-1-2 on the road, while Adirondack is 11-9-0-1 at home.

– For the second time this season, the Devils tied the franchise record when they scored eight goals against Utica Friday. Previously, the team hit the mark during an 8-6 victory against Bridgeport on Nov. 30. Entering the year, the team netted eight goals on Dec. 27, 2008 against Providence (8-1).

Seth Helgeson

Seth Helgeson and Corbin McPherson were both a +4 during the team’s win at Utica Friday. This season, Helgeson has eight points (1g-7a) and a +10 rating in 38 games. McPherson has five assists and a +10 rating in 34 outings.

– Adirondack is coming off a 4-2 setback against Hartford Friday. Jason Akeson had a goal and an assist and Kris Newbury posted a goal.

Devils vs. Phantoms Series
The Devils are 24-21-6-4 all-time against the Phantoms, including a 16-6-3-3 home mark and an 8-15-3-1 road record. Saturday’s meeting will be the eighth of 12 between the two clubs this season and Albany is 3-3-1-0.

During their last meeting, the Devils lost to the Phantoms, 4-0, on Jan. 4 at Glens Falls Civic Center. Adirondack’s Cal Heeter made 33 saves for his fourth shutout of the season. Offensively, Newbury had two goals and an assist and Akeson posted a pair of helpers. After Saturday, games between the two clubs at Times Union Center will be played on Jan. 25 and Feb. 15. Outings at Glens Falls Civic Center are on Feb. 21 and Apr. 6.
