HARTFORD, CT – For the first time in four years, the Albany Devils begin on the road with a 3 pm outing against the Hartford Wolf Pack Sunday at XL Center. The Devils will try and reverse their season-opener fortune after going 0-5-1-1 during their last seven tries. The team last opened on the road in 2009-10, losing 4-3 in overtime at Bridgeport.

Notables
– Last year, the Devils finished fourth in the Northeast Division and 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 31-32-1-12 record (75 pts). The Wolf Pack (or the former Connecticut Whale) finished second in the division and ninth in the conference at 35-32-6-3 (79 pts.).

Joe Whitney returns for his third season with the Devils after leading the team in scoring the past two years. As a rookie in 2011-12, he registered 44 points (15g-29a). In 2012-13, he totaled 51 points (26g-25a).

Keith Kinkaid and Scott Wedgewood make up Albany’s goaltending tandem. Kinkaid is coming off a 21-17-6 mark with a 2.72 goals against average last season. Wedgewood appeared in five AHL contests, going 2-2-0 with a 3.47 goals-against mark.

- During the 2012-13 season, the Devils went 4-1-0-1, including three wins at XL Center, against the New York Rangers AHL affiliate.

With 4:59 remaining in regulation, Joe Whitney chipped in a rebound goal, helping the Devils to a 3-2 victory at Times Union Center. Harri Pesonen registered a pair of tallies andKeith Kinkaid made 21 saves.
