HERSHEY, PA – For the second straight weekend, the Albany Devils enter the third contest of a three game weekend with two wins to their credit. And for the second straight weekend, the Devils face the Hershey Bears in the final leg the three-game set. After a 4-1 Hershey win last Sunday at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, the Devils travel to face the Bears at Giant Center.
- The Devils are second in the Northeast Division and fourth in the Eastern Conference at 23-11-3-2 (31 pts.). The Bears are fourth in the East Division and tied for ninth in the conference at 18-14-3-3 (42 pts.). Albany is 11-5-1-2 on the road, while Hershey is 12-6-1-3 at home.
- Last time out, Rod Pelley, Kelly Zajac, Artem Demkov and Tim Sestito each scored, helping Albany to a 4-1 win at Adirondack Saturday. Dan Kelly posted a pair of helpers and Keith Kinkaid made 21 saves.
- Demkov is on a five-game points streak with three goals and two assists. Since making his AHL debut on Dec. 4, he has registered 10 points, including six goals and four assists, in 18 outings.
- Segal and Taffe rank first and second on the team in scoring. Segal has 33 points with 13 goals and 20 helpers, while Taffe has 25 points with nine tallies and 16 assists.
Devils vs. Bears Series
The Devils and Bears are meeting for the second consecutive Sunday. Hershey earned a 4-1 win last week at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. The Devils, who have won three of the last four contests, are 7-15-0-1 all-time against the Bears with a 5-7-0-0 home mark and a 2-8-0-1 road record.
During last Sunday’s game, Artem Demkov scored for Albany, but three Hershey goals in the second period lifted the Bears to victory. Hershey’s Dustin Gazley, Jeff Taffe and Cameron Schilling each had multi-point games. Gazley and Taffe both posted a goal and an assist, while Chay Genoway contributed a pair of helpers. The two teams will meet again at Boardwalk Hall on Feb. 14 and at Giant Center on Mar. 28.
The Devils are 14-4-2-2 when coming off a win this season. However, they are 0-3-0-1 during Sunday contests.
