NORFOLK, VA – After four games, the Albany Devils have earned five-out-of-a-possible-eight points. They will try and improve on their 2-1-0-1 record against the Norfolk Admirals Saturday at Scope Arena (7:15 pm). The Devils have never earned more than five points after five games to start a season.

– The Devils are third in the Northeast Division and tied for seventh in the Eastern Conference at 2-1-0-1 (5 pts.). The Admirals are second in the East Division and fifth in the conference at 3-1-0-1 (7 pts.).

Scott Timmins continued his streaking start as a Devils with an assist during the team’s 2-1 shootout loss at Norfolk Friday. The Devils center has points in all four games this year and leads the team with six points (2g-4a).

Eric Gelinas netted his first goal of the season Friday and Jon Merrill had the primary assist. The tally was the 23rd of Gelinas career, while Merril’s assist was his fourth of the season.

Joe Whitney‘s younger brother Steven scored Norfolk’s lone regulation goal against Albany. He is tied for third on the team with two goals. Alex Grant and Rickard Rakell lead the Admirals with three tallies.

About The Series
Saturday’ match up will be the 38th meeting between the two teams. Albany is 11-22-2-2 all-time with a 6-10-1-1 home record and a 5-12-1-1 away mark. Last season, the Devils were 1-1-1-1 against the Admirals. After Saturday’s contest, Albany and Norfolk will meet at Times Union Center on Nov.1 and Feb.22.

Puck Drop
The Devils have outshot their opponents in three of the first four games. On Friday, they owned a 32-22 shot advantage against the Admirals. Eric Gelinas unloaded a game-high nine shots.
