CROMWELL, Conn. — The Albany Devils remained undefeated this preseason with a 3-1 victory Wednesday against the Connecticut Whale. Brandon Burlon, Harri Pesonen and Darcy Zajac each scored during the game, which was held at Champions Ice Center in Cromwell, Conn.

Against the Whale, Burlon began the scoring with 42.7 seconds remaining in the first period. His wrist shot from the left face-off circle came during a seven-minute power play.

Pesonen added to the lead during the same man advantage when he redirected a point shot from Raman Hrabarenka at 2:57 of the second period. Zajac made it 3-0 four minutes later with an even strength goal at 6:52.

Jeff Frazee began the night in goal and exited the game midway through the second period after stopping all 10 shots he faced. Maxime Clermont replaced the fifth-year pro while the team protected a 3-0 lead. Connecticut’s J.T. Miller spoiled the combo shutout with a two-man advantage goal at 16:08 of the second.
