BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – With three preseason victories to their credit, the Albany Devils dropped the final game before the beginning of the regular season. The Devils lost, 6-3, Saturday against the Binghamton Senators at Broome County Arena.
During training camp, the Devils went 3-1 and entered the night with exhibition wins against the Adirondack Phantoms (5-3) on Tuesday and the Connecticut Whale (3-1) on Wednesday. They also defeated the Phantoms (2-1) in a scrimmage on Friday. Up next, Albany hosts a regular-season contest against the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday at Times Union Center at 5:05 p.m.
In goal, Jeff Frazee played two periods and made 24 saves on 28 shots. Keith Kinkaid stepped in for the third period and turned away 14shots on 15 tries. The Devils rotated goaltenders in all four of their preseason contests.
The Devils went 1-for-3 with the man advantage, while the Senators went 2-for-6.
