Newark, NJ – The New Jersey Devils have signed restricted free agent left wing Reid Boucher to a one-year, two-way contract worth $715,000 at the NHL level. The announcement was made by Devils’ Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.
Boucher, who will turn 23 on September 8, split last season between New Jersey and Albany (AHL). While with New Jersey, he set new career-highs with eight goals, 11 assists and 19 points with six PIM in 39 games played. While with the A-Devils, Boucher posted 19g-13a-32pts with four penalty minutes in 34 games. He also added four goals and six assists in 11 Calder Cup Playoff games this year.
Boucher has split the last three full seasons with the organization’s NHL/AHL affiliate and had two brief stints in Albany during 2011-12 & 2012-13. In 73 career NHL games, he has totaled 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points while accumulating 10 penalty minutes. He was New Jersey’s third choice (fourth round) and the 99th overall selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
