ALBANY, NY – Round nine of the rivalry series between the Albany Devils and the Adirondack Phantoms will take place Saturday at Times Union Center. Both the Devils and Phantoms will try and end recent skids during the 2 pm contest. Albany has one point its last two games, while Adirondack is on a three game slide.

Notables

The Devils are second in the Northeast Division and tied for fourth in the Eastern Conference at 23-12-3-3 (52 pts.). The Phantoms are third in the division and tied for 10th in the conference at 20-17-0-2 (42 pts.). Albany is 12-6-2-0 at home, while Adirondack is 9-7-0-1 on the road.

- Mike Sislo, who made his NHL debut on Jan. 3, has six points in his last seven AHL games. The third-year-pro is tied for third on the team with 23 points and ranks second with 11 goals. In 154 career outings, he has producing 76 points with 33 tallies and 43 helpers.

Corbin McPherson

- Defensemen Seth Helgeson and Corbin McPherson were both a +3 during the team’s 8-3 victory at Utica on Jan. 17. For the season, Helgeson is a +10 in 41 games and McPherson is +12 in 37 outings.

- Adirondack is coming off a 4-1 loss at Springfield Monday. Brandon Alderson scored the Phantoms lone goal. Yann Danis and Cal Heeter shared time in goal; Danis made 12 saves on 16 shots in 39:43, while Heeter stopped all five tries in 18:37.

- Jason Akeson and Kris Newbury lead the Phantoms with 34 and 24 points, respectively. Akeson has 13 goals and 21 helpers in 39 games and Newbury has 12 tallies and 12 assists in 31 outings.

Devils vs. Phantoms Series

The Devils are 25-21-6-4 all-time against the Phantoms, including a 16-6-3-3 home mark and an 9-15-3-1 road record. Saturday’s meeting will be the ninth of 12 between the two clubs this season and Albany is 4-3-1-0.

During their last meeting, Rod Pelley, Kelly Zajac, Artem Demkov and Tim Sestito each scored, helping Albany to a 4-1 win at Adirondack last Saturday. Dan Kelly posted a pair of helpers and Keith Kinkaid made 21 saves. After Saturday, games between the two clubs at Times Union Center will be played on Jan. 25 and Feb. 15. Outings at Glens Falls Civic Center are on Feb. 21 and Apr. 6.

Puck Drop

The Devils have points in 13 of their last 17 divisional games, improving their overall record to 14-7-2-1 against the Northeast Division.
