ALBANY, NY – The Albany Devils put a lid on November with a 5 pm contest against divisional foe the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Saturday at Times Union Center. The Devils have registered at least one point in seven of the last nine games going 6-2-1-0.
- The Devils are second in the Northeast Division and tied for fifth in the Eastern Conference at 11-7-1-1 (24 pts.). The Sound Tigers are fifth in the division and 15th in the conference at 5-9-1-3 (14 pts.). Albany is 5-4-1-0 at home, while Bridgeport is 1-4-0-3 on the road.
- Reid Boucher is tied for fifth among AHL rookies with 17 points, registering a team-high nine goals and eight assists in 20 games. Additionally, he is second among rookies with 67 shots. Boucher is on a four-game point streak, posting four goals and two assists.
- With a 24-save win at Adirondack Saturday, Scott Wedgewood snapped a four game skid. In eight outings this season, he has a 4-4-0 record with a 2.66 goals-against average and an .891 save percentage.
- Strome and Lee lead Bridgeport with 21 and 15 points, respectively. Strome has six goals and 15 helpers, while Lee has seven tallies and eight assists.
Devils vs. Sound Tigers Series
Saturday’s contest will be the 44th meeting all-time between the two clubs. The Devils are 14-21-3-5 overall, including a 12-7-1-2 home showing and a 2-14-2-3 road record. The teams last met on Nov. 11 at Times Union Center. Six Devils registered multiple-point games and Keith Kinkaid made 25 saves in a 5-2 victory. Reid Boucher, Dan Kelly, and Rod Pelley each posted a goal and an assist and Raman Hrabarenka, Stefan Matteau and Harri Pesonen all had two helpers.
Other meetings between the two teams this season include contests at Times Union Center on Dec. 13, Jan. 31 and Apr. 11. Games at Webster Bank Arena are on Dec. 10, Dec. 22, Dec. 29, Feb. 8 and Feb. 16.
Albany has enjoyed middle periods this season, outscoring opponents 23-13 and out shooting them 189-160.
