ALBANY, NY – The Devils, who have the third highest winning percentage (.680) in the Eastern Conference and the fifth highest in the AHL, are riding a season-long five-game winning streak into Saturday’s contest against the Hartford Wolf Pack. During Albany’s run, it has outscored opponents, 26-13.
- The Devils are second in the Northeast Division and fourth in the Eastern Conference at 16-7-1-1 (34 pts.). The Wolf Pack are fifth in the division and 15th in the conference at 9-13-0-3 (21 pts.). Albany is 8-4-1-0 at home, while Hartford is 4-8-0-1 on the road.
- Last time out, Mattias Tedenby sparked a four-goal third period for Albany in a 6-1 victory against Bridgeport Friday at Times Union Center. Carrying a 2-1 advantage into the third period, the Devils received a pair of goals from Tedenby, a penalty shot tally from Artem Demkov and a power-play goal from Joe Whitney. Mike Hoeffel and Chris McKelvie scored in the first period. In goal, Keith Kinkaid made 23 saves.
- Chris McKelvie has five points in the last five games, producing two goals and three assists. In 25 games, he has 10 points with five goals and five assists. For his career, McKelvie has appeared in 133 AHL games, registering 35 points, including 14 goals and 21 helpers.
- Rookie Danny Kristo continues to lead the Wolf Pack. He has 19 points, backed by 10 goals and nine assists, in 23 games. Defenseman Aaron Johnson is second with 17 points, including three goals and a team-best 14 helpers.
Devils vs. Hartford Series
Saturday’s contest will be the 49th meeting between the two teams. The Devils are 26-17-2-3 all-time against the Wolf Pack, including a 13-8-1-2 home mark and 13-9-1-1 road record. This season, Albany is 3-1-0-0 against Hartford.
During their last meeting, the Devils claimed a 3-0 victory against the Wolf Pack on Nov. 20 at Times Union Center. Keith Kinkaid made 24 saves and Reid Boucher posted a goal and an assist. Stefan Matteau and Brandon Burlon also scored and Joe Whitney registered a pair of helpers. Albany and Hartford will meet again at Times Union Center on Mar. 15. Games at XL Center will be played on Feb. 1 and Mar. 8.
Albany has at least one power-play goal during the last 10 games, operating at 34.6 percent (18-52). The team ranks seventh in the AHL at 21.0 percent (26-124).
