ALBANY, NY – The Devils play the first- and second-place teams in the Eastern Conference on consecutive nights. Albany already defeated first-place Springfield, 3-0, Friday and now host second-place Manchester at Times Union Center Saturday at 5 pm. The game is part of “GE Kids In Free Day” with free admission for all children 12-and-under.

Notables
- The Devils are second in the Northeast Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference at 20-10-3-2 (45 pts.). The Monarchs are first in the Atlantic Division and second in the conference at 24-9-2-4 (54 pts.). Albany is 11-5-2-0 at home, while Manchester is 12-5-1-3 on the road.

Scott Wedgewood

- In his 19th career AHL appearance, Scott Wedgewood posted his first career shutout with 21 saves at Springfield Friday. This season, he has played 14 games, going 7-6-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage. For his career, he is 9-8-1 with a 2.95 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage.

- Captain Rod Pelley had a goal and an assist during Friday’s victory. He now has six goals three assists for the season, bringing his career totals to 44 goals and 47 helpers.

- Manchester defeated Bridgeport, 4-1, Friday at Verizon Wireless Arena. Linden Vey had a goal and an assist and Martin Jones, who was named to the AHL All-Star Team Thursday, turned aside 31 shots.

- Jordan Weal and Brandon Kozun lead the Monarchs with 31 and 29 points, respectively. Weal has eight goals and a team-best 23 helpers, while Kozun has 10 tallies and 19 assists.

Devils vs. Monarch Series
Saturday’s meeting will be the 47th all-time meeting between the Devils and Monarchs. The Devils are 20-21-2-3 overall with a 7-13-2-1 home mark and a 13-8-0-2 road record. Manchester won both meetings last season. Albany and Manchester will meet again on Feb. 9 at Verizon Wireless Arena.

In a game that included 11 goals, including six in the third period, the Devils fell short, 7-4, during their last meeting against the Monarchs on Jan. 11, 2013 at Verizon Wireless Arena. The Devils attempted to erase a three-goal deficit in the third by scoring three goals, but the Monarchs withstood the charge. Harri Pesonen posted a goal and an assist. Mattias Tedenby also scored and Joe Whitney supplied an assist.

Puck Drop
The Devils are 12-6-3-1 when outshooting opponents this season and 18-9-3-2 when allowing fewer than 30 shots.
