ALBANY, NY – The Albany Devils begin December with a 7 pm game Wednesday against the Springfield Falcons. Albany has points in eight of its last 10 games (7-2-1-0) and has at least one point in four consecutive home contests (3-0-1-0).
- The Devils are second in the Northeast Division and fifth in the Eastern Conference at 12-7-1-1 (26 pts.). The Falcons are first in the division and second in the conference at 14-3-1-1 (30 pts.). Albany is 6-4-1-0 at home, while Springfield is 5-1-1-1 on the road.
- Stefan Matteau is on a five-game point streak, producing four goals and four assists during that span. For the season, he has 11 points with five goals and six assists in 20 outings.
- Mike Sislo registered career-high four points, posting two goals and two assist against Bridgeport Saturday. The third-year pro is fourth among active Devils with 12 points with six goals and six assists in 17 contests.
Devils vs. Falcons Series
The Devils and Falcons are meeting for the 54th time. The Devils are 26-22-1-4 overall with a 12-10-1-3 home mark and a 14-12-0-1 road record. Albany is 4-2-0-1 during the last seven meetings, including a 5-3 loss earlier this season.
The teams last met on Nov. 22 at MassMutual Center. Reid Boucher, Tim Sestito and Kelly Zajac each scored in the setback. Keith Kinkaid’s six-game winning streak was halted. He finished with 18 saves. Albany and Springfield will meet again at Times Union Center on Jan. 3, Jan. 7 and Apr. 19. Games at MassMutual Center are on Jan. 10, Feb. 4 and Mar. 14.
The Devils are 10th in the AHL for goals-for and goals-against averages. The team is averaging 3.00 goals-per game and 2.71 goals-against per contest.
