ALBANY, NY – The Albany Devils, who lost to the Springfield Falcons, 4-3, in overtime Friday, are seeking redemption Tuesday with a 7 pm outing against the Falcons at Times Union Center. The second-place Devils are nine points behind the first-place Falcons in the Northeast Division.
- The Devils are second in the Northeast Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference at 19-9-3-2 (43 pts.). The Falcons are first in the division and first in the conference at 24-5-1-3 (52 pts.). Albany is 11-4-2-0 at home, while Springfield is 11-2-1-2 on the road.
- On Saturday, Rod Pelley appeared in his 500th professional game. In eight seasons, he has played in 256 NHL contests, producing 29 points with nine goals and 20 assists. Additionally, he has logged 244 AHL games, totaling 87 points with 42 goals and 45 helpers. This season, he has seven points, including five goals and two assists, in 33 outings.
- Kelly Zajac registered a goal and an assist last weekend, increasing his season point total to 17. In 27 games, the Devils center has three goals, 14 assists and a +3 rating.
Devils vs. Falcons Series
The Devils and Falcons are meeting for the 56th and 57th time this week. The Devils are 27-22-2-4 overall with a 13-10-2-3 home mark and a 14-12-0-1 road record. Albany is 5-2-1-1 during the last seven meetings, including a 1-1-1-0 record this season.
The Devils and the Falcons exchanged four goals during a 1:39 span in the third period to setup overtime where Darryl Boyce scored with 1:47 remaining, lifting Springfield to a 4-3 victory last Friday at Times Union Center. Kelly Zajac had a goal and an assist, while Harri Pesonen and Rod Pelley both scored. Albany and Springfield will meet again at Times Union Center on Apr. 19. Games at MassMutual Center are on Jan. 10, Feb. 4 and Mar. 14.
