ALBANY, NY — Raman Hrabarenka and Chris McKelvie were added to the Albany Devils injured list after the team’s recent three-in-three weekend. Hrabarenka was hurt during Friday’s game at Providence, while McKelvie was injured during Saturday’s contest at Lehigh Valley.
Both players are out indefinitely. Hrabarenka is battling a lower-body injury, while McKelvie is out with a broken hand.
“It’s not as bad as we may have thought it was,” said Head Coach Rick Kowalsky of Hrabarenka’s injury. “There was a battle in front and he had a guy pushed on him. We originally thought it was knee and ankle. Thankfully just — I say just — but another potential high ankle sprain. It’s significant enough that he is going to miss some time.”
A good sign during Wednesday’s practice at Times Union Center was the return of defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani, who has missed the last four games with an upper-body ailment.
During the practice he wore a gray jersey, while the rest of the defensemen were in black.
“We were hoping he would be available for full participation, but he’s not right now,” Kowalsky said. “We have another week to sit on it, but at least he can skate with the team, which is a good sign.”
