ALBANY, NY – The 2016 NHL Draft is approaching quickly and the New Jersey Devils will have the 11th overall pick during the two-day event on June 24 and 25 in Buffalo, NY.
NHL.com Deputy Managing Editor Adam Kimelman ran a mock draft and projects the Devils will select forward Michael McLeod from Mississauga (OHL) with their first round pick.
“The Devils scored the fewest goals in the League last season, so an offensive upgrade is in order. McLeod (6-2, 188) has great speed and showed this season he can set up linemates or finish plays at the net.” – Adam Kimelman (May 28, 2016)
McLeod has played the last two season with Mississauga, totaling 90 points (33g-57a) in 120 contests. Last season, he registered a career-high 61, producing 21 goals and 40 helpers in 57 games. During the playoffs, he registered nine points (3g-6a) in seven games.
