ALBANY, NY – Albany Devils center Jim O’Brien missed Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury he sustained during the latter part of Saturday’s 6-1 win against the Utica Comets.
Kowalsky was asked about O’Brien’s status following Albany’s 3-2 overtime loss Sunday.
“He got hurt in that hit late,” the Devils’ bench boss said, “It’s a lower body. He tried it this morning. Hopefully, it’s nothing more than maybe resting him this week, but we’ll see.”
The Devils begin a five-game road swing Friday against the Syracuse Crunch and Saturday against the Hartford Wolf Pack. After the weekend, the team doesn’t play until the following Friday against the Providence Bruins.
O’Brien, who has been in a top-six forward role, has two goals and two assists in eight games.
