ALBANY, NY — The Albany Devils take to the ice for the second game of their three-in-three home weekend. The team welcomes the Utica Comets to the Times Union Center Saturday after losing, 3-2, against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Friday.
The Devils and Comets are tied for fourth in the North Division and tied for seventh in the Eastern Conference with a .500 points percentage. Albany is 3-3-1-0, while Utica is 3-3-0-0.
Players To Watch
• Albany: Coming off 12 points (3g-9a) in 11 AHL games last season as an ATO, Matt Lorito has nearly kept up the same pace this year. He has five points (1g-4a) in six outings. The Oakville, ON native spent the last four seasons at Brown (ECAC), severing as captain his senior year. Lorito led the Bears in scoring two of the four years.
• Utica: Hunter Shinkaruk netted a pair of goals in the Comets 7-5 win at Binghamton Friday. He leads the team with seven points, netting six goals and an assist in six games.
The Devils and Comets are set to faceoff for their seventh all-time meeting. Albany is 6-0-0-0 with three wins apiece at Times Union Center and at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
