Preview: Devils at Falcons, 7 PM

ALBANY, NY – The Albany Devils go for their third consecutive victory when they travel to face the Springfield Falcons Saturday at MassMutual Center. The 7 pm puck drop comes a day after the Devils dominated the Binghamton Senators, 4-0, at Times Union Center. The Devils allowed a franchise-low six shots on goal for their 11th win of the season.

Entering the game, the Devils are second in the North Division and third in the Eastern Conference at 11-4-3-0, while the Falcons are fourth in the Atlantic Division and eighth in the conference at 9-7-1-0.

What To Watch For

• Albany: After Friday’s dominating defensive performance, the Devils now have the top defense in the AHL. The team ranks tied for first with a 2.00 goals-against average and first with a 25.00 shots-against mark. Goaltender Yann Danis is second in the AHL with a 1.78 goals-against average and defenseman Vojtech Mozik leads the league with a +14 rating.

• Springfield: The Falcons are also coming off back-to-back wins, including a 2-0 victory at the Hartford Wolf Pack Friday. Nicklas Treutle made 26 saves and Alex Grant and Lucas Lessio both scored. Treutle has appeared in six games this season, going 4-2-0 with a 2.01 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage.

• All-Time Series: The Devils and Falcons are meeting for the 71st time and the Devils are 34-28-3-5 overall with an 18-11-2-4 home mark and a 16-17-1-1 road record. This season, Albany is 1-0-1-0.

• Last Meeting: Yann Danis made 30 saves as the Devils shut out the Falcons, 4-0, last Friday at Times Union Center. Matt Lorito and Joseph Blandisi both posted a goal and two assists. Paul Thompson and Mike Sislo provided the additional goals. Albany was outshot 26-15 after two periods, but came alive in the third, scoring three goals and outshooting the Falcons, 13-4.
