Preview: Devils at Sharks (April 12, 2015)
WORCESTER, MA — The Albany Devils find themselves in a must-win situation when they face the Worcester Sharks Sunday at DCU Center (3 pm). The Devils are six points out of a playoff spot with four games remaining in the regular season. A loss would mathematically eliminated Albany.
Scouting the Devils (33-28-5-6)
• Albany, which is 6-4-0-0 in its last 10 outing, is coming off a 2-1 loss against the Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday at XL Center. Raman Hrabarenka netted his ninth goal of the season and Scott Clemmensen made 21 saves.
• Brandon Burlon and Paul Thompson are among the Devils leaders against the Sharks this season. In three games, Burlon has a goal and two assists and Thompson has two tallies. Clemmensen is 1-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage.
Scouting the Sharks (40-26-4-2)
• Worcester is 7-3-0-0 in its last 10 games, including a 3-0 setback against the Providence Bruins Saturday at DCU Center. Netminder Troy Grosenick made 21 saves on 24 attempts.
• Dylan DeMelo is the only active Worcester player with more than one point against Albany this year. In three outings, he has a goal and an assist. In goal, Grosenick is 0-1-0 with a 3.08 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.
The Devils and Sharks are meeting for the 56th time in franchise history. The Devils own a 27-21-4-3 overall record with a 14-10-2-2 home mark and a 13-11-2-1 road record. Friday’s contest will be the third between the clubs this season and Albany is 1-0-1-0.
