Preview: Devils vs Americans, 5:00 PM

ALBANY, NY – Goals were hard to come by Friday when the Albany Devils and Rochester Americans skated to a 1-0 decision at Blue Cross Arena. The two teams’ offenses hope a change of scenery will do them good as Albany hosts Rochester at Times Union Center at 5 pm.

The Devils are second in the North Division and third in the Eastern Conference at 27-13-7-0 (.649), while the Americans are fifth in the division and 11th in the conference at 23-22-2-1 (.510).

Head-to-Head-RCH-Infograph• Albany: The Devils 2016 AHL All-Star selections shined during Friday’s contest. Yann Danis registered his sixth shutout of the season, making 22 saves. He extended his shutout streak to 127 minutes and 48 seconds. He will have a chance to pass Scott Wedgewood’s mark of 163 minutes and 29 seconds. Offensively, Mike Sislo extended his point streak to three games. He has four goals and an assist during that span.

• Rochester: The Amerks were without one of their leading scorers Friday as Phil Varone was recalled by the Buffalo Sabres before the game. He is tied with Jason Akeson and Cal O’Reilly for the team lead with 26 points. Akeson and William Carrier lead the Americans against the Devils this season. Both players have two assists.

• All-Time: Saturday’s game will be the 17th all-time between the two clubs and the Devils are 8-7-0-1 with a 4-3-0-1 home mark and a 4-4-0-0 road record.

• Last Meeting: The Devils shut out the Americans for the second time this season, defeating them 1-0 Friday at Blue Cross Arena. Yann Danis made 22 saves and Mike Sislo broke a scoreless tie at 6:15 of the third period. Albany owned a 28-22 shot advantage and Rochester’s Linus Ullmark made 27 stops.
