ALBANY, NY – The Albany Devils have a chance to tie a franchise record when they host the Syracuse Crunch Sunday at 5 pm at Times Union Center. Albany’s current five-game winning streak is one shy of tying the longest stretch in club history. The team won six games between Nov. 30 and Dec. 14 during the 2013-14 season.

What To Watch For

• Albany: The Devils are coming off a 2-1 victory against the Rochester Americans Saturday. Max Novak and Mike Sislo both scored as Albany registered its 10th win in its last 12 outings. Matt Lorito, who had a pair of assists, has a team-leading 21 points (4g-17a) in 21 outings. He is tied for seventh in the AHL for points and third among rookies. Additionally, he is tied for the league lead with 17 helpers.

• Syracuse: The Crunch gave up a two-goal lead during the final 6:13 of play to fall to the Utica Comets, 4-2, Saturday at War Memorial Arena. Netminder Kristers Gudlevskis made 29 saves and former Devil Matt Taormina had an assist. Rookie defenseman Anthony DeAngelo leads the Crunch with 14 points, including three goals and a team-high 11 assists.

• All-Time: Sunday’s game will be the 44th all-time meeting between the two franchises. The Devils are 17-20-2-4 overall with a 5-12-1-3 home mark and an 12-8-1-1 road record. This season, Albany is 1-0-0-0.

• Last Meeting: The Devils used a pair of Joseph Blandisi power-play goals and a late Ryan Kujawinski goal to defeat the Syracuse Crunch on Nov. 6 at War Memorial Arena. Matt Lorito and Mike Sislo set up both of Blandisi’s tallies. Ben Thomson also found the back of the net and Yann Danis made 27 stops.
