ALBANY, NY – The Albany River Rats were defeated by the Providence Bruins 5-0 Saturday at Times Union Center in front of a crowd of over 6,000 fans. The Bruins used four second period goals to come away with the win to improve their record to 38-19-5-4. Albany’s record moves to 34-28-2-3.
Colton Hargrove gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead at 10:58 of the first period and Alex Grant made it 2-0 at 0:57 of the second period. Austin Czarnik followed later in the second with a power-play goal at 5:56. Peter Cehlarik then scored at 14:41 and Danton Heinen tallied a power-play goal at 17:22 to give Providence a 5-0 lead heading into the third period.
The Devils travel to Providence Friday to take on the Bruins at Dunkin’ Donuts Center for a 7:05 pm puck drop.
