GLENS FALLS, NY -- A week after the Albany Devils won game one of the Time Warner Cable Cup, the Adirondack Phantoms evened the series Saturday at Glens Fall Civic Center. The Devils lost, 4-0, during the second of 12 games against the Phantoms this season. These two teams will meet again next Saturday at Times Union Center at 7 pm.

Keith Kinkaid, who made his fifth start, turned away 29 shots, including 10 in the first, 11 in the second and 8 in the third.

The Phantoms scored down a man, with a man advantage, with a two-man advantage and at even strength.

Sean Couturier made the score 1-0 at 6:18 of the first when Brayden Schenn sprung him for a breakaway while killing a penalty. In the second, Ben Holmstrom added to the Phantoms lead on a power play, cleaning up a rebound in front at 13:20.

The third goal came off the stick of Erik Gustafsson at 9:19 of the third while playing with two men up and Shane Harper concluded the scoring at 16:03 skating 5-on-5.

The Devils best opportunities came in the third. They had nearly a four minute power play thanks to back-to-back penalties by Adirondack. Later on, they worked a 5-on-3 power-play for over a minute and a half. However, Adirondack’s goaltender Scott Munroe and his team’s penalty kill unit thwarted the Devils efforts, limiting them to 0-for-7 on the power play for the game.

Munroe earned the victory by turning away 26 shots.

Next up, the Devils travel to take on the Providence Bruins Friday at 7:05 pm. Fans can hear the game on 104.5 “The Team” ESPN Radio or online at ahllive.com.
