With the help of six wins in their last seven games, the Devils have moved within four points of the final spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs. This week, they travel for three pivotal road games.

Paul Thompson’s natural hat trick lifted the Devils to a 4-1 victory against the Senators Saturday at Times Union Center. Matt Lorito setup all three tallies as the Devils claim their sixth win in the seven contests.

With five wins in their last six outings, the Devils are making their run at a top eight spot in the Eastern Conference standings. They will try and improve their playoff chances with a 5 pm outing against the Senators Saturday at Times Union Center.

Scott Wedgewood made 32 saves — plus three in the shootout — to help the Devils to a 1-0 victory against the Falcons.

The Devils and Falcons are both trying to get into the playoffs. They meet for a 7 pm game Friday at MassMutual Center.

Standings watching is hard avoid this time of the year. With eight games remaining in the regular season, the Devils are on the outside looking in, trailing the eighth-place Portland Pirates by seven points.
