On Sunday, Rod Pelley became the sixth captain in team history and the first one since 2009 not named Stephen Gionta or Jay Leach. Pelley, who was previously with the organization between 2006-11, rejoined the Devils this offseason after splitting the last year-and-a-half with Anaheim and Norfolk. His familiarity and experienced made it an easy decision for the team.
