ALBANY, NY — The American Hockey League season is just about a quarter of the way completed and the Albany Devils sit atop the North Division standings. The team improved to 12-6-0-0 thanks to three consecutive victories last week.
The Devils began their winning streak, downing the Toronto Marlies 3-1 at Times Union Center Tuesday. Albany then earned a 4-3, come-from-behind win on the road against the Hartford Wolf Pack at XL Center Friday. The team concluded the weekend with a 4-2 routing of the Rochester Americans at home Saturday.

Three rookies led the way for the Devils last week, including John Quenneville who had a team-best five points. The 20-year-old posted a goal and four helpers and was a +3. He posted a season-high three points (1g-2a) during Saturday’s win.
Between the pipes, Ken Appleby went 2-0-0 with win Tuesday and Saturday. He posted a 1.50 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage. Appleby was reassigned by New Jersey to Albany from Adirondack (ECHL) on Nov. 19.
Mackenzie Blackwood registered his fourth win of the season when he turned aside 24 shots during Friday’s victory. This season he is 4-3-0 with a 3.90 goals-against average and a .877 save percentage.
