Timmins Acquired, Kinkaid Assigned to Albany

NEWARK, NJ — Both the New Jersey Devils and the Albany Devils rosters changed slightly during the weekend. The NHL Devils acquired center Scott Timmins from Florida and the AHL Devils received goaltender Keith Kinkaid from the big club.

Saturday, New Jersey traded Krys Barch and a seventh round pick in 2015 to Florida for Timmins and a sixth round pick in 2014. Timmins, 24, was drafted by Florida in the sixth round in 2009. In 2012-13, he had 11 goals and 24 points during 65 games played with San Antonio (AHL). He also appeared in five games for the Panthers.

Sunday, Kinkaid, 23, was assigned to the Albany. In 2012-13, he played 45 AHL games, posting a 21-17-6 record with a 2.72 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage. He made his NHL debut against Tampa Bay on Mar. 5.
