ALBANY, NY – The Albany Devils goaltending situation was modified Tuesday. New Jersey reassigned Scott Wedgewood on loan to Albany from Trenton (ECHL), while reassigning Maxime Clermont from Albany to Elmira (ECHL).
In his first professional season, Wedgewood has played 44 ECHL games, posting a 17-24-2 with a 3.24 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage. Wedgewood, who New Jersey drafted in the third round (84th overall) in 2010, appeared in 43 games last year with Plymouth (OHL). He went 28-10-3 with a 3.02 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage. Additionally, he represented the Bronze Medal-winning Canadian team at the 2012 World Junior Championships.
Clermont returns to Elmira after making 29 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Saturday. The game was his first AHL contest since April 15, 2012. In three career AHL outings he is 1-1-1 with a 1.63 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage. In 32 ECHL games this year, he is 15-13-2 with a 3.25 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage. Clermont selected in the sixth round (174th overall) in 2010.
