ALBANY, NY – The City of Albany has released the following information regarding alternative traffic patterns that coincide with the Devils 5 pm game against the Adirondack Phantoms Saturday at Times Union Center.
Motorists are advised that Exit 3B off of southbound I-787 — the off-ramp for Madison Avenue — in the City of Albany will be closed at 10 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Monday.
The closure may affect motorists traveling to the Times Union Center. Southbound I-787 motorists who would normally use Exit 3B should instead use Exit 2 and turn right onto South Pearl Street to get to Madison Avenue. Motorists can also use Exit 4B (Clinton Avenue) for access to Broadway and North Pearl Street.
The closure is for continuing work on the South Mall Expressway piers.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license. It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through this construction zone, for their own safety and the safety of workers.
