The Albany Devils five game road trip continues with three outings this weekend. The team travels to face the Portland Pirates Friday at  Androscoggin Bank Colisée (7 pm), the Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday at XL Center (7 pm) and the Worcester Sharks Sunday at DCU Center (3 pm).

After a 3-2 loss against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Saturday at Boardwalk Hall and a 2-1 shootout loss against the Providence Bruins Sunday at Dunkin’ Donuts Center, Albany is second in the Northeast Division and tied for seventh in the Eastern Conference at 29-18-3-6 (67 pts.) The Devils, who are 5-3-0-2 in their last 10 outings, are 13-9-1-5 on the road this season.

The Pirates, Wolf Pack and Sharks ranks 15th, 14th and 13th, respectively, in the Eastern Conference. Portland is fifth in the Atlantic Division at 21-26-2-7 (51 pts.). Hartford is fifth in the Northeast Division at 23-27-0-6 (52 pts.) and Worcester is fourth in the Atlantic Division at 24-27-3-1 (52 pts.).

Joe Whitney is on the cusp of tying Stephen Gionta’s Devils record for career points. In 193 games, Whitney has registered 60 goals and 79 assists for 139 points. Gionta set the record between 2006-13 in 371 games, producing 58 goals and 82 assists for 140 points. Whitney broke Gionta’s goal record on Feb. 15 against Adirondack.
