What To Watch For: Dec. 30 – Jan. 5



In their first three-in-three weekend of the season, the Albany Devils earned five-out-of-a-possible-six points. The team registered a 2-0 win against Adirondack Friday and followed with a 4-1 victory against Portland Saturday. The Devils then earned a point during a 3-2 shootout loss at Bridgeport Sunday.


For the 2013 calendar year, the Devils posted a 39-29-2-8 record for a .564 winning percentage. Albany closed out the year with a combined 14-5-2-1 mark for a .773 winning percentage during November and December. Entering the week, the team is second in the Northeast Division and fourth in the conference at 19-8-2-2 (42 pts.).


The Devils are sandwiched between this week’s opponents in the Northeast Division.  Friday’s foe, Springfield, is first in the division and second in the conference at 21-5-1-3 (46 pts.), while Saturday’s opponent, Adirondack, is third in the division and ninth in the conference at 15-13-0-2 (32 pts.).


The Devils are on a franchise-record six-game home winning streak, outscoring opponents 31-14. Additionally, Albany has points in nine consecutive home games, which is the longest active stretch in the AHL and the second longest in the league this season. Manchester had a 10-game run between Oct. 26 and Dec. 20.
