What To Watch For: Jan. 6-12



The Albany Devils embark on one of its busiest weeks of the season with four games in six days. The team begins with a home-and-home set against the Springfield Falcons with a 7 pm game Tuesday at Times Union Center and a 7 pm contest Friday at MassMutual Center. The Devils welcome the Manchester Monarchs to the Capital Region Saturday at 5 pm and then host the Hershey Bears at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall Sunday at 4 pm.


Saturday’s game is “GE Kids In Free Day” at Times Union Center. All children 12-and-under will receive free admission when accompanied by an adult with a ticket. The first 1,000 kids to arrive will receive a GE sponsored, Devils t-shirt. Children will be the focus of the day with a wide array of activities targeted at the youth during breaks in the action. The game will also feature a birthday celebration for the team’s mascot, Devil Dawg.


After a 3-2 overtime loss against Springfield Friday and a 4-0 setback at Adirondack Saturday, Albany is second in the Northeast Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference at 19-9-3-2 (43 pts.). The team is 11-4-2-0 at home and 8-5-1-2 on the road.


Sunday’s game marks the third year that the Devils have hosted games at Boardwalk Hall. The team played four games during each of the 2010-11 and 2012-13 seasons. Albany hosts Hershey against at Boardwalk Hall on Feb. 14. Additionally, the Devils play Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Mar. 1 and Mar. 23.
