The Rat Is Back: The Albany Devils announced today that they will wear Albany River Rats jerseys during two “Throwback Nights” during the upcoming season on Saturday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Mar. 25. The Devils’ organization has a history with the River Rats, who were affiliated between 1993 and 2006. After the Mar. 25 contest, the jerseys will be autographed and auctioned through the team’s online auction portal at thealbanydevils.com/shop. Additionally, the first 1,500 fans to arrive at the turnstiles during the March outing will receive a Devils/River Rats’ water bottle sponsored by the Times Union.
Presale Is Reopened: Starting with today’s “Throwback Night” announcement, the Devils have reopened the single-game presale option for all 38 games at Times Union Center. The presale, which can save fans up to 20 percent off box office prices, will remain open until Thursday, Oct. 6 at noon.
Checking In At Training Camp: The New Jersey Devils preseason schedule continues tonight when the team travels to face the New York Rangers at 7 pm. The Devils are coming off a 2-0 loss against the Philadelphia Flyers yesterday to move to 2-1-0 in preseason action.
Yesterday, New Jersey announced that it agreed to terms with defenseman Kyle Quincey on a one-year, one-way contract. The signing has implications for the Albany Devils, who will likely be assigned an additional blueliner.
