Devils Fight Cancer Night Details: The Devils will host the third annual “Albany Devils Fight Cancer Night” during their game against the Rochester Americans Saturday at 5 pm. Tickets are $18 with $5 benefiting the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. Additionally, the event includes a special puck drop, prizes and a check presentation from the Holiday Jersey auction.
Special Circumstances: The Devils have one of best special teams tandems in the AHL. The penalty kill unit sits atop the rankings at 87.2 percent and the power play is second at 22.2 percent. Albany is 17-4-6-0 when keeping their opponents scoreless with the man advantage. On the flip side, the team is 19-5-4-0 when scoring a power-play goal. Mike Sislo leads the league with 13 man-up tallies.
Devils On A Roll: Several Devils will try and extend their point streaks when the team faces the Rochester Americans at 7:05 pm Friday at Blue Cross Arena. Brian O’Neill, who has seven points (2g-5a) in the last six games, is on a three-game streak with a goal and three helpers. Brandon Burlon, Matt Lorito and Mike Sislo are each on two-game streaks. Burlon has four assists and Lorito has two helpers. Sislo has three goals and an assist. Netminder Yann Danis has a streak of his own. He is 2-0-0 during his last two starts.
