TROY, NY – The Albany Devils, who have been battling injuries much of the year, are beginning to reach full health, as evidenced by 24 of the 26 players on the roster participating fully in practice Tuesday at Knickerbacker Ice Arena.
Only Blake Coleman and Max Novak were not on the ice. Coleman is still out indefinitely with an upper-body injury he suffered in a game against Binghamton on November 27. Novak is scheduled to have an x-ray next week, but is skating on his own — though still unable to do any puck handling. Novak injured his hand on December 12th at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Both Blake Pietila and Ryan Kujawinski, who have missed the last three games, are available to play in this weekend’s contests. Defenseman Seth Helgeson participated fully in Devils practice and is a possibility to play this weekend. Helgeson suffered an upper-body injury on December 16th at St. John’s and has missed the last four games.
