Game 3: Devils vs. Marlies, 5:00 PM
ALBANY, NY — After splitting the first two games of the North Division Final, the Albany Devils and Toronto Marlies will meet at 5 pm Sunday at Times Union Center for Game 3. The Devils will try and continue the success they had on home ice during the regular season. They led the AHL with a 27-7-3-1 record, outscoring opponents, 116-67.
Overall, the Devils finished second in the conference and in the division at 46-20-8-2 (.671). The Marlies were first in the league, conference and division at 54-16-5-1 (.750).
What To Watch For
• Albany: Injuries forced Head Coach Rick Kowalsky to shuffle his lines during Game 2. His top line included Brian O’Neill centering Reid Boucher and Nick Lappin and the trio was a factor throughout the game. All three registered points with Lappin scoring and Boucher and O’Neill picking up assists. They also created several chances, including a pair of breakaways for Lappin.
• Toronto: T.J. Brennan and Zach Hyman both had two goals during Game 2 and goaltender Antoine Bibeau stole the victory with a 40-save performance. He has won his last five starts against the Devils. This postseason, he is 3-0 with a 3.16 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
