Matteau Added to USA National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. – Stefan Matteau has been added to the 2015 U.S. Men’s National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship May 1-17 in Ostrava and Prague, Czech Republic.

Matteau previously represented the United States as a member of the 2014 U.S. National Junior Team that competed at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Malmo, Sweden. In five games, Matteau registered three goals and an assist. He was also a member of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program for two seasons (2010-12) where he collected 50 points (22-28) in 93 games.

A first-round draft pick by the New Jersey Devils in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Matteau spent the 2014-15 season with the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League where he recorded 27 points (12-15) in 61 games.

Team USA’s roster now has 11 forwards, seven defensemen, and one goaltender.
