TROY, NY – For the most part, the Albany Devils made it out of last week’s games without injury. Recalls by the New Jersey left the team shorthanded for their game at Providence Saturday, which forced Max Novak to return from a hand injury sooner than expected.
The Devils practiced Monday and Novak was held out for some maintenance.
“Novak was just kind of a maintenance day,” said Head Coach Rick Kowalsky. “He’s a little sore. He took a shot in the foot as well as his hand is a little sore.”
Brandon Burlon returned to full practice after sustaining an injury during practice earlier this month. He has missed the last six games, but may return for the Devils 7 pm game against Hartford Wednesday.
Kowalsky: “Burlon skated today full practice for the first time, we’ll see how he is feeling tomorrow. He’s a possibility.”
The only other injury Albany is dealing with is Blake Coleman, who successfully had shoulder surgery last Wednesday. He is out four to six months.
