ALBANY, NY — In what could easily be dubbed as the game of the month, the Albany Devils travel to face the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for a 7:05 pm start at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Devils have the third-best record in the league at 16-4-3-0, while the Penguins are the top team at 18-5-0-0.

Entering the game, the Devils are riding a franchise-long seven-game winning streak, while the Penguins have won their last two contests by a combined score of 10-2.


• Albany: The Devils’ seventh straight win was led by a pair of Jim O’Brien goals and three Corey Tropp assists in a 3-1 win against the Syracuse Crunch Friday. O’Brien made his return from an ankle injury and it was his first game since Oct. 31. In nine games, he has four goals and two assists. Tropp had a season-high three points, giving him 16 points (5g-11a) in 23 outings.

• Wilkes-Barre/Scranton: The Penguins are coming off a 4-0 win at the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Friday. Matt Murray made 23 saves for his 12th victory of the season. Offensively, Dominik Simon and Scott Wilson both potted a pair of goals. For the season, Conor Sheary leads the team and is tied for fourth in the AHL with 24 points. In 23 outings, he has six goals and 18 helpers.


• All-Time: Saturday’s outing will be the 32nd meeting all‐time between the Devils and Penguins. The Devils are 7‐17‐2‐5 overall with a 3‐10‐1‐2 home mark and a 4‐7‐1‐3 road record. Since the 2011-12 season, the Devils are 7-5-2-3 against Penguins.

• Last Meeting: The Devils erased a two goal deficit in the third period only to see the game slip away during the last 5:08. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s Scott Wilson scored on a point shot to help his team to a 5-3 victory Saturday at Times Union Center. Reid Boucher led Albany, scoring at 1:07 of the third period and then setting up Paul Thompson at 8:30.
