WILKES-BARRE, PA — With eight wins in their last 11 outings, the Albany Devils travel to face the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Friday at 7:05 pm. The contests, which will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena, is a must win for Albany. The team is two points out of a playoff spot with two games remaining in the regular season.

Scouting the Devils (35-28-5-6)
• The Devils have been in a must-win situation for their last two games and they have prevailed both times. Most recently, they defeated the Syracuse Crunch 6-2 Wednesday at Times Union Center. Matt Lorito tied a franchise record, registering five points (1g-4a).

• Like Lorito, Joe Whitney and Reece Scarlett are also coming off multi-point performances. Whitney had a pair of goals and an assist and Reece Scarlett registered a pair of helpers.

Mike Sislo, Reid Boucher and Brandon Burlon lead Albany against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. Sislo has three goals, Reid Boucher has two goals and an assist and Brandon Burlon has a goal and two helpers.

Scouting the Penguins (43-23-3-4)
• The Penguins are riding a four-game winning streak into Friday’s game. Last time out, Andrew Ebbett picked up a shorthanded goal and an assist as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defeated the Portland Pirates, 3-1, Sunday.. Scott Wilson notched the game-winning goal and Jeff Zatkoff made 29 saves.

• On Thursday, the AHL announced Matt Murray as the winner of the Aldege “Baz” Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL’s outstanding goaltender for the 2014-15 season. Murray owns a record of 25-9-3 in 39 appearances, and his 1.51 goals-against average, .943 save percentage and 12 shutouts not only lead the league in 2014-15, they also all represent the second-best marks in the 79-year history of the AHL.

Josh Archibald and Jayson Megna are among the Penguins leads against the Devils. Both players have a goal and an assist.
