Rookies Max Novak and Blake Coleman both scored and first-year players Joseph Blandisi had two assists and Ken Appleby made 28 saves.

O’Brien, who New Jersey signed as a free agent this offseason, has played 226 career AHL games, producing 60 goals and 86 assists.
