ALLENTOWN, PA – The Albany Devils travel to face the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Saturday for their only meeting at PPL Center this season. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm and the Devils are looking for their fourth consecutive victory, while the Phantoms go for their third straight win.
Albany is second in the North Division at 7-3-2-0 (.667); Lehigh Valley is seventh in the Atlantic Division at 6-8-0-0 (.429).
Players to Watch
• Albany: In seven AHL games this season, Reid Boucher has six goals and two assists. Additionally, he has points in five of his last six contests. For his career, the Lansing, MI native has registered 46 goals and 35 helpers for 80 points in 137 AHL games. Additionally, he has produced three tallies and five helpers for eight points in 37 NHL outings.
• Phantoms: Nick Cousins leads Lehigh Valley with 15 points, backed by five goals and 10 assists in 10 games. He is averaging 1.50 points per game and has registered at least one point in his last four AHL games.
Devils vs. Phantoms Series
• All-Time Series: The Devils and Phantoms, who once shared an area code, will meet for the 64th time Saturday. Albany, which is 30-23-6-4 all-time against the Phantoms, is 19-7-3-3 at home and 11-16-3-1 on the road.
• Last Meeting: Scott Wedgewood made 35 saves, helping the Devils defeat the Phantoms, 4-1, on Jan. 29 at PPL Center. Joe Whitney, Mike Sislo, Ben Thomson and Brandon Burlon each scored. Burlon and Tim Sestito led all scorers with two points each. Burlon had a goal and an assist and Sestito had a pair of helpers.
