Preview: Devils vs. Bruins, 5 PM

ALBANY, NY — Coming off a four-game road trip and the Holiday Break, the Albany Devils return to Times Union Center Saturday for a 5 pm outing against the Providence Bruins. The Devils have the second-best home points percentage in the AHL at .808. The team, which is 10-2-1-0 at the TUC, is second only to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (.833, 12-2-0-1).


• Albany: The Devils remain in second place in the North Division and third in the Eastern Conference at 16-8-3-0 (.648). Two recent transactions have added Joseph Blandisi and Brian O’Neill to the roster. Both players joined the team for its game at Rochester last Saturday. Blandisi earned his first NHL recall on Dec. 10 and made his NHL debut on Dec. 11 against Detroit. O’Neill, who New Jersey acquired on Oct. 6 from Los Angeles in exchange for a conditional seventh-round selection in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, has appeared 22 NHL games this season, producing two points.

• Providence: The Bruins, who are coming off a 4-2 setback at Portland Tuesday, are tied for fifth in the Atlantic Division and tied for 11th in the conference at 11-12-5-1 (.483). Seth Griffith and Alexander Khokhlachev lead the team with 23 and 22 points, respectively. Griffith has nine goals and 14 helpers in 22 games and Khokhlachev has seven tallies and 15 assists in 19 contests. In goal, Malcolm Subban is 6-7-0 with a 2.67 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage.


• All-Time Series: The Devils are 27-18-2-7 all-time against the Bruins, including a 15-9-0-3 home mark and a 13-9-2-4 road record. Albany, which is 1-0-0-0 this year, went 1-1-0-0 against Providence last season.

• Last Meeting: Reid Boucher had a pair of goals and Vojtech Mozik registered three assists in the Devils 4-2 victory against the Providence Bruins on Nov. 13 at Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Blake Pietila had a goal and an assist and Brandon Burlon had two helpers. Joseph Blandisi also scored. Yann Danis earned his seventh win of the season; he had 21 saves on 23 shots.
