Preview: Devils vs. Falcons, 5 PM
ALBANY, NY – Coming off a 2-1 overtime victory Friday to start a three-in-three weekend, the Albany Devils return to Times Union Center Saturday for a 5 pm outing against the Springfield Falcons. The Devils have wins in 15 and points in 18 of their last 22 games. They haven’t lost in regulation on home ice since Feb. 9.
The Devils’ points percentage of .676 ranks second in the AHL, Eastern Conference and North Division. Friday’s win was the team’s 41st of the season, setting a franchise record. Albany improved to 41-17-8-2. Springfield is 15th in the conference and eighth in the Atlantic Division at 23-37-3-5.
What To Watch For
• Albany: Since March 1, Jim O’Brien and Brian O’Neill have combined for 24 points (12g-12a) in 14 games. O’Brien has eight goals and seven helpers in 14 outings and O’Neill has four tallies and five assists in 11 contests. During that same time span, Max Novak has registered a goal and seven helpers in 13 games and Matt Lorito has four markers and four assists in 14 fixtures.
• Springfield: The Falcons surrendered four unanswered goals during the third period in a 5-2 loss at Utica Friday. Ross Mauermann had a hand in both Springfield goals, posting a goal and an assist. Greg Carey, who had an assist against the Comets, is the team’s active leader with 43 points, including 26 tallies and 17 assists, in 63 contests. He has a goal and three helpers in his last six outings.

• All-Time: The Devils and Falcons are meeting for the 74th time and the Devils are 36-28-4-5 overall with a 19-11-2-4 home mark and a 17-17-2-1 road record. This season, Albany is 3-0-2-0.
• Last Meeting: Playing with just 11 forwards, the Devils were able to defeat the Falcons, 4-1, at Times Union Center on Mar. 22. Ten different Devils registered at least one point and Yann Danis made 17 stops. Brandon Burlon, Ben Johnson, Jim O’Brien and Matt Lorito each scored and Paul Thompson and Brian O’Neill had two assists each.
